During spring semester of 2023, PAFA hosted first, and only, competition for the Academy mascot. I had an opportunity to participate in it and honor to win this campaign.
I would like to introduce you to Chonk – the PAFA mascot! Chonk won elections for the mascot position during the 2023-2024 academic year. Chonk welcomed new students in the fall 2023 semester and accompanied them on exclusive merch during their studies!
Idea
Previously known as Chonky Kitty, Chonk was inspired by curious nature of the cats, that a lot of artists share too. The paint brush Chonk holds is the same paintbrush that is rises above Cherry st, near PAFA. Kitty’s feet and tail are in paint, because there is never a one way to make art. Mischievous smile and fashionable hat, Chonk has it all!
Campaign
During the campaign time, I’ve posted these posters around school to grab attention. Their theme was based on popular at that moment memes, that circulated on the internet.
Collectable cards
Following the campaign promise, I illustrated even more memes with Chonk. Then they were printed as a limited edition cards with my signature, and hidden in school for students to find.
